ADA REED MUSCATINE, Iowa - Ada Laura Reed, 92, of Muscatine, died Monday, September 2, 2002, at Riverbend Nursing and Rehab Center. Services will be 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Foote of the Mulford Evangelical Free Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brad Reed, Steve Boyd, Kevin Boyd, Tim Ziemann, Brian Reed and Les Hartley. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mulford Evangelical Free Church. Mrs. Reed was born on June 26, 1910, in Keithsburg, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Mary Brumer Logel. She married Fred Erwin Reed on Feb. 28, 1928, in Muscatine. She was a member of the Mulford Evangelical Free Church. She was a volunteer "Gold Star" mother. Survivors include one son, Edward C. Reed and his wife, Beverly, of Wilton, two daughters, Frances Boyd and her husband, Jack, of Muscatine, and Betty Ziemann and her husband, Ted, of Orono, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Curtis "Pete" Logel of Muscatine, Albert "Abbie" Logel of Muscatine, and Alvin Logel of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred, in 1969, one son, Fred E. Reed Jr., one daughter, Mary Hartley, one sister, and six brothers.
