Earl Ormsby MOSCOW, Iowa #45;- Earl G. Ormsby, 82, Moscow, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at his home. Private family services will be held. The Rev. Dr. David Hottenstein will officiate. Pallbearers are Joe Ormsby, Andrew Ormsby, C.J. Ormsby, Jacob Ormsby, Josh Ballou, Jeremy Ballou, Jon Ormsby, and Jessica Ballou. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Mr. Ormsby was born on April 6, 1920, in Cedar Co., the son of George and Elsie Meyer Ormsby. He married Lois M. Hagge on Feb. 23, 1946, in Wilton. He farmed in Cedar County his entire life, retiring in 1985. He was a Cubs and Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed fishing and fixing things. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Wendy Ballou of Bettendorf; two sons, Dennis Ormsby of Moscow and Keith Ormsby and his wife, Barbara, of Champaign, Ill.; a sister, Dorinda Ploen and her husband, Robert, of Moscow; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
