Frances Bennett COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa #45;- Frances Marie Bennett, 83, Columbus Junction, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at McCreedy Nursing Home, Washington. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. The Rev. Betsey Neipert will officiate. Pallbearers are Denny Bennett, Butch Bennett, Ralph Ramer, Larry Ramer, Bob Murdock and Jerry Murphy. Burial will be at the Conesville Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Conesville United Methodist Church after the burial. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Conesville United Methodist Church or the Washington County Hospice. Mrs. Bennett was born on Sept. 22, 1919, the daughter of Chester and Ruth DeLap Ramer. She married Harrison Eugene Bennett on Sept. 3, 1938, in Muscatine. She worked at S and L Grocery, Bettendorf, for many years. She was a member of the Conesville United Methodist Church. She liked to cook, sew, shop and feed the birds. Survivors include a son, James Bennett of Davenport; a daughter, Norma Jean McCormac and husband Dick of Columbus Junction; five grandchildren, Nancy Jo Reed, Jeffrey Eugene Bennett, Bret James Bennett, Brenda Myers and Brian McCormac; eight great-grandchildren, Adam Reed, Kayla Reed, Ryne Bennett, Hailey Bennett, Jacob Bennett, Michael Myers, Lynnsey Myers and Amanda Myers; four brothers, Don Ramer of Conesville, Bob Ramer and wife Helen of Iowa City, Max Ramer and wife Margaret of Conesville and Jack Ramer of Cedar Falls; and two sisters, Alice Hazen and husband Bob and Jean Yedlik, all of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Pete.
