BLANCHE ANDREWS RANCHO MIRAGE, California - Blanche Marie "Peg" Andrews, 91, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002, in Rancho Mirage, California. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2002, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Martin of Calvary Church will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at the Big Bear Mortuary and a Funeral Service was also held at the First Baptist Church of the Big Bear Valley, California. Mrs. Andrews was born on June 6, 1911, in Muscatine, the daughter of Benjamin and Maude E. Nyenhuis. She married Eugene R. Nay on June 3, 1958, in Van Nice, California. He preceded her in death in 1975. She later married Carl Kenneth "Ken" Andrews. In her younger years she was a clothing designer working in New York and Paris. She and her husband, Eugene Nay, owned and operated the Alpine Slide and Magic Mountain Resort Complex at Big Bear Lake for over 40 years. She is survived by her husband, "Ken" Andrews of California, and a step-daughter, Barbara Bedard of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
