Edith M. Keever STRONGHURST, Illinois - Edith M. Keever, of Stronghurst, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 27, at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stronghurst. Services are 2 p.m., Friday, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Ill. The Revs. Carol Stufflebeam and Lyren Haney will officiate. Internment is in the Oquawka Cemetery. Visitation is 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established for the Gladstone United Methodist Church or Oak Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stronghurst, Ill. Mrs. Keever was born on Nov. 10, 1902, in Muscatine, the daughter of Frederich and Lucy Koester Schmoldt. She married George C. Keever, Feb. 18, 1920, in Muscatine. He died Sept. 13, 1975. She was raised and educated in Muscatine. She was a homemaker and worked at the Automatic Button Co., in Muscatine. She was a member of the FOE Auxiliary number 3629 in Oquawka, Ill., and the Gladstone United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, flower and vegetable gardening and bingo. She is survived by daughters, Bessie Slover and husband Keith of Oquawka, Ill. and Ruby Gaddis and husband Jim of Hannibal, Mo.; sons, Lloyd Keever and wife Mary and Lyle Keever, both of Gladstone, Ill., Robert Keever and wife Doris, Milton Keever and wife Janet and Albert Keever and wife Marge, all of Oquawka, Ill.; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, two sons; two step-sons; one step daughter; one grandson; three granddaughters; one step grandson; three brothers and three sisters.
