In loving memory of

John Wickham
November 12, 1939 - January 28, 2021

John Wickham of Antigo passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 81 years old. John, son of Archie and Dorothy (Gretzinger) Wickham, was born on November 12th, 1939 in Crandon WI. He was the youngest of six siblings.

John graduated from Crandon High School. He married the love of his life, Gail Resch, on January 19th, 1963 in Kenosha. They had just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

John was a machinist in the Fox Valley raising his family in Greenville WI until his retirement. Following his retirement, he moved to the town of Deerbrook WI, where he and his wife Gail lived in the house that he and his sons built on Deepwoods Lake.

John cherished all of the time he spent with his family. During his working years, he loved taking the family to the north woods. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and sitting around the campfire telling stories that more often than not, would make you laugh. He also loved a good cookout while enjoying a beverage. John was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, never wanting to miss a Brewers, Packers, Bucks, or Badgers game. He also enjoyed coaching Youth Baseball and attending the sporting events that his grandsons participated in. One of his favorite past times was watching old western movies.

John is survived by his loving wife Gail of Antigo; two sons David (Glenda) Wickham of Greenville, and Curt Wickham of New London; two grandsons Jacob Wickham of Park Falls and Zachary Wickham of Greenville; two brothers, Harold (Lois) Wickham and Jim Wickham; brother-in-law Harry Jaeger; in-laws, Kathy (Dick) Pesl, Bill Resch, and Pete (Shelly) Resch; as well as many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his father, Archie; mother Dorthy and stepfather Joe Keller; grandson Lucas Wickham; sisters Marie Yaeger, Johann Gobert and infant sister Jane; sister-in-law Betty Wickham; brother-in-law Winnie Gobert; father and mother-in-law Roy and Viola Resch; and sister-in-law Sandy Resch.

John's family would like to express a special thank you to the Cardiology staff at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau for the many years of care and compassion that they provided to John.

Per John's wish, no services will be held.
