Melinda Maas WEST LIBERTY, Iowa #45;- Melinda Lee Maas, 16, West Liberty, died Friday, May 2, 2003, after a two vehicle accident near Atalissa which also claimed the life of her boyfriend, Ryan Bradley of Wilton. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Liberty United Methodist Church, 113 East Fifth St., West Liberty. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at the church. A memorial fund has been established. The Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty, is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 3, 1986, in Iowa City, the daughter of Tom and Marla Windus Maas. She was a junior at West Liberty High School where she was an honor student. She was active in softball, chorus, 4-H and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She enjoyed her family's annual fishing trip and the fishing contests, horses, being in the country, playing pool and the Muscatine County Fair. She was a member of Cedar Valley United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Survivors include her parents, Thomas and Marla Maas of West Liberty; two sisters and a brother, Jennifer, Austin and Makenzie; grandparents, Delores Windus of West Liberty, Don Maas of Nichols and Pat Dillard of Overton, Texas; a great-grandmother, Pearl Walker of Marion; special friend, Maria Montagna; future brother-in-law, Matt Driscoll; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Keith Windus and a cousin, Mitch Parizek.
