HAROLD BOORN MUSCATINE, Iowa - Harold W. 'Dutch' Boorn, 81, of 2421 Lutheran Drive, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at Lutheran Homes. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Brenda Goodall of the Fellowship United Methodist Church's will officiate. Honorary Bearers will be Brent Goodrum, Earl Denkman, Gene Denkman, Ray Frenzel and Dennis Anderson. Pallbearers will be Bob Bierman, Doug Norton, Stephanie Rayburn, Joe Goodrum, Barry Boorn, Kristy Boorn, and Deanna Boorn. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be form 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Spangler Chapel or the Bloomington Grange. Mr. Boorn was born on October 16, 1921, in Muscatine, the son of John and Anna Schmoldt Boorn. He married Elsie Irwin on February 16, 1941, in Muscatine. He was a member of the Fellowship United Methodist Church Spangler Chapel, Bloomington Grange, Muscatine Farm Bureau and the Moose Lodge No. 388. He farmed for 44 years south of Moscow. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Boorn of Muscatine; one son, William H. Boorn and his wife, Judy, of Perry; one son-in-law, Bryan Goodrum of Wilton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Boorn of Grand Junction; and one sister, Alice Pace of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father; two daughters, Ruth Ann Goodrum and Shirley June Smith, two sisters, one brother and one step-brother.
