Kenneth D. Stratton DAVENPORT , Iowa - Kenneth Darrell Stratton, 70, Davenport, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Davenport. Services and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park with military graveside rites by the Davenport American Legion Post No. 26. Visitation will be Wednesday 4- 8 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Victory, Good Samaritan Nursing Center, or the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Stratton was born Nov. 2, 1932, in West Liberty, a son of Vearl L. and Evelyn M. Schell Stratton. He was married Marie Banke on May 13, 1972, in Minneapolis. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1995 from Firstar Bank. He had previously been a welder, working on commercial doors and framing. He was a member of the American Legion, a lifetime Member of the Knight of Columbus No. 532, and the North Scott I-Club. He was a dedicated Iowa Hawkeye Fan. He had been a pitcher and active in fast pitch baseball. He also coached various women and men's fast pitch leagues. In earlier years, he played football for Davenport Central High School, where he received All State honors. Survivors include his wife; and sisters, Lois Henkel of Muscatine, and Ruby Wells of Davenport, and many nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
