Lewis Williams MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- The Rev. Bishop Lewis B. Williams, 69, Muscatine, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at his home. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Church of the Living Water, 3120 Park Ave. West, Muscatine. The Rev. Raymond Hayes will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by vocalists, Jacque McCoy, Emmanuel Williams and Vaneshia Nunnulley; organist, Tom Smith; and pianist, Marie White Tabor. Pallbearers are Jasper Mayfield, Duke Monroe, Calvin Lloyd, Tony Lloyd, Lucius Williams Jr. and Josh Kelp. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory, Muscatine. Memorials may be made to the Lewis B. Williams Memorial Fund at the funeral home. Mr. Williams was born Dec. 24, 1933, in Columbia, Mo., the son of Clarence H. and Margaret Florence Logan Williams. He married Queenie Phillips Feb. 7, 1986, in Iowa City. He had been involved in the ministry for 43 years. Most recently he held the position of Reverend Bishop of the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Church, Muscatine. He had also served as a State Patrol officer in Kansas City, Mo., and later was chief of police at the University of Missouri, Jefferson City, Mo. He had also been very active with the prison chaplaincy program for many years. Playing the piano gave him great joy. He also liked to watch all types of sports and take rides in the car. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Jay L. West-Williams and his wife, Candice, of Chicago, Chester Tombs, the Rev. Michael Clark Williams and his wife, Elaine, of Wichita, Kan., Emmanuel G. Williams and Stephen V. Williams, both of Columbia, Mo., and Matthew Alexander and his wife, Kristy, of Cedar Rapids; nine daughters, Myrna Bruce and her husband, Stevie, of Booneville, Mo., Vaneshia Nunnulley and her husband, Ricky, of Columbia, Theresa Brooks and her husband, Phil, of Michigan, Kristi Price and her husband, Steve, of Oklahoma, Nikki J. Williams of Muscatine, the Rev. Jacque McCoy and her husband, The Rev. Ricky McCoy of Muscatine, LaCretsia Alexander and her friend, Joe West, of Iowa City, Angie Lily and her husband, Eugene, of Muscatine and Patrice Williams of Cedar Rapids; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Williams of Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Dorothy Bannister of Wichita, Margaret Corine Warren of Columbia and Mattie Will Davis of Wichita; and his 'adopted' children, Heather and Harbe Kressha of Coralville, the Rev. Lee and Tonya Sissel of Mackinaw, Mich., Monique Lloyd of Davenport and Marie Cotton of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents.
