Jake Schneider CLINTON, Iowa - Jake Schneider, 97, of Clinton, Iowa died on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, Iowa. Services for will be held at 3 p.m.Sunday, June 6th, 2004 at Lewke Funeral Home South, 2600 Lincolnway, Clinton. Reverend Jeff Belger will officiate the service. The visitation will be from 2 p.m. on Sunday until the time of the service at funeral home. The rosary will be recited prior to the service. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2004 at in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials go to Sarah Harding or Mercy Hospice Care. Jacob Francis Schneider was born on March 1, 1907 in Salem, South Dakota, the son of Michael and Katheryn (Henle) Schneider. He married Agnes Ferguson. He later married Imogene (Fuller) Meder in Davenport, Iowa on September 11, 1947. He wag employed at Climax as an Engineer for 29 years, retiring in 1972. He served In the Army daring World War II. Survivors include: two daughters; Mrs. Katheryn (Dick) Hess of Clinton and Mrs. Patricia (Don) Whitmore of Muscatine; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Miller of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Mrs. Novent Doyle of Seattle, Washington; many grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one step-daughter, one sister, three brothers and two grandchildren.
