Dean Blint OAKVILLE, Iowa #45;- Dean Blint, 78, Oakville, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3, at the United Methodist Church, Oakville. The Rev. Chris Thomas will officiate. Burial will be at Williamson Cemetery, Denmark. A funeral luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at the Oakville Community Building. Visitation is noon-8 p.m. today, with family present from 6-8 p.m., at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. A memorial fund has been established to benefit the Wapello Rescue Unit and the Wapello Community Ambulance Service. Mr. Blint was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Denmark, the son of William and Nellie Donnelly Blint. He married Delpha Mae Young Kirkpatrick on April 2, 1977, in Denmark. He was a farmer on the family farm in Denmark for many years. He later worked as a custodian for Anchor Metals in Fort Madison and then after their move to Oakville in the 1980's he was part owner of the Skating Rink and currently the Oakville Tap. He loved his old truck and his John Deere. He enjoyed helping at the sawmill and shop. He was known for his great sense of humor. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Deborah Newsom of Oakville and Dianna Moyle and husband, Walter, of Mount Pleasant; a son, Douglas Kirkpatrick and wife, Gail, of Oakville; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Blint and wife, Mary Kay, of Beloit, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Albert, Bill, Elmer, Ralph, Ray and Donald; and three sisters, Doris Watznauer, Frances Martin and Helen Goodwin.
