MUSCATINE, Iowa - Kay Wendlandt Hurlbut, 53, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at her home.

Kay was born on November 7, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Robert F. and Inagene 'Jean' Klatt Wendlandt. She married Michael Hurlbut on April 25, 1987.

Kay graduated from Muscatine High School in 1986. She later worked at HNI. She enjoyed camping, long drives, traveling, and resin art. She loved her pets, Ginger, Fred, and Darryl.

Kay is survived by her parents, Robert and Inagene Wendlandt of Muscatine; her husband, Michael of Muscatine; her daughter, Tysa Hurlbut and significant other, Ethan Graham, of Muscatine; grandchildren, Cole Greene and expected baby girl, Donna Kay; two siblings, Douglas Wendlandt and wife, Penny, of Anoka, Minnesota, and Dr. Alicia Law of Tarpon Springs, Florida; mother-in-law, Janet Hurlbut; Aunt Jane Bancks and husband, Bob; and many nieces and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Adolph and Inagene Klatt; paternal grandfather, Robert Wendlandt; brother and sister, Todd and Andrea, in infancy; Aunt Marie Amos; and father-in-law, Michael M. Hurlbut.
