In loving memory of

Joshua M. Meehan
September 4, 1988 - February 6, 2021

It is with great sadness that on February 6, 2021, Joshua Mathew Meehan, of Gloucester City, passed away at the age of 32 years. Joshua was the beloved son of Joe and Dawn Meehan, adoring husband of Emily Bender, and devoted father of Elias, Rumi, and Casey. He was the dearest brother of Kara (Don), Joey (Maddy), and Laura, and the most loving uncle to Ryleigh, Alissa, JJ and Miles. Josh was also a caring cousin to Bobbisue Sambucci (Greg) and Jessica Hagan (Vince), and is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joshua was an avid reader and writer, musician and lover of music. He was devoted to helping others and impacted many people through his selfless service in the recovery community. He was a long-standing member of the 12 Step fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous. Josh also enjoyed putting on his golden slippers and strutting with his Two Street Stompers NYB family. (Two Street fired up!)

His love for life was on full display in his smile. He showed compassion and empathy toward everyone and everything around him, and his kind heart could be felt everywhere he went.

We hope that every time you hear a guitar strumming, a poem being recited, or a song that speaks to your soul, think of Joshua and smile.

There will be a visitation from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, February 11 at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

"Dearest Brother!! Words can not express the pain I am in right now. I have no doubt you knew you were loved, I always said.. "You know i love you right?" I am going to miss you like no other. I wish I could have removed the internal struggle you were going thru and helped you to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I pray God has wrapped his loving arms around you and you are safe and healthy now. No more doubt, no more pain, no more struggles little brother. I can't imagine my life wo you. You are my baby brother but you are also my best friend, you are my restoration to sanity.. on any given day. I will make sure to let your children know just how freaking amazing their dad was! I wish I had the power to bring you back.. Just so you could see how amazing you were and how many peoples lives you've touched. God let us borrow you for a short time but in that time, you shined on the world! You sure were something else little brother! I love you w everything I have and everything I ever will be. Im sorry I couldn't protect you from the evils in this world. Im sorry I couldn't save you from yourself. I will miss you every single day until we meet again. Keep us safe. Send us signs. Love you little brother. Your big sister Kara. "

"When we moved to Hunter St. Josh was only 4 years old, he was always smiling always a nice boy, in the summer months thru his years of growing up, we would hear his dad Joe distinctive whistle to bring Josh on home and we would smile knowing some nights we would hear that whistle a few times knowing Josh wanted to stay out and play. I hope Josh heard Gods whistle and he went home and is safe and smiling and at peace. Neighbors Ken and Jacki Lentz "
