Duane Jerome Wickert, 84, of Rochester, MN passed away on February 11, 2021 at home. He was born on November 30, 1936 in Ceylon, MN, the son of Joseph and Sarah Wickert. He married Connie Laabs on June 22, 1966 in Rochester, MN. Duane was in the Marine Corps from February 3, 1955 to February 2, 1959. He was a sheet metal worker for local union #10 for 50 years before retiring on January 15, 1996.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Duane's hobbies were buying and selling goods and he was an avid collector of multiple items. He was a Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan and a member of Pax Christi Catholic Church.
Duane is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Jeff Wickert and Sam (Susie) Sletten; daughters, Jodi (Al) Martin, Lisa (LeRoy) Spearman, and Lori Withem; daughter-in-law, Linda Wickert; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sarah Wickert; two brothers, Burdette and Terry; and son, Jerome Wickert.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, masks and social distancing measures are required.
