In loving memory of

Robert Brown
March 22, 1951 - February 11, 2021

Robert C. Brown, of Lansdale, died peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Horsham Center in Horsham, PA. He was 69 years old.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Robert was the son of the late Leonard and Mary (nee Feltz) Brown. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy.

Bob retired in 2007, after a 27 year career as IT Director with AEL / Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions in Lansdale. He was a veteran of the US Navy.

Bob was a Ham radio operator for 56 years - call sign KW3F. He was a member of the Frankford Radio Club and had made contact with stations in all United States counties and more than 100 countries throughout the world. He was one of the founding fathers of the Winter SWL Fest, celebrating short wave radio and was the former Executive Director of the North American Short Wave Association.

Bob was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Bass Masters State Championship Team in 1977, and continued fishing with family and friends for many years.

Bob's love of music led to producing several concerts as Cricklewood Productions. He had a deep appreciation for all varieties of music and loved to reminisce about the many concerts and festivals he'd attended. The list is substantial. He was a talented guitar player and enjoyed playing for his entire life.

After retiring, Bob turned his focus to photography, a longtime passion. He especially enjoyed photographing people and nature.

He was a true Philly sports fan and loved gathering with friends and family for a Sixers, Flyers, Phillies or Eagles game. Having grown up in Chicago, he was also thrilled to see the Cubs win the World Series.

To many close friends, he was known affectionately as the "Social Director", leading to countless new experiences. "Don't make a fuss, just get on the bus."

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Gail (nee O'Neill). He is the dear father of Jodi Brown and significant other Dan Bergstein of Allentown; and Brian C. Brown and wife Katie, of Lafayette Hill. He is the brother of Jacquie Hart; brother-in-law of Frank O'Neill and his wife Kim; and uncle to several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.
