"Words can't express my thoughts and feelings losing Shawn so young. She was born an "Angel" with an intoxicating smile and personality...Growing up and going through elementary and middle school together before our lives went different directions, we grew close. Even as time went on, we stayed in touch and visited often. Shawn was devoted to her family, but also made time for her friends even at sometimes the most inconvenient times. So proud of everything she accomplished. Shawn will be deeply missed. My condolences to her family."

"Laura and Scott, I wish there were more that I could do besides offer you my condolences and love. I have been struggling to find the right words, but there just aren't any. Shawn has been my best friend and honorary sister for most of my life, the light to my dark, to say that I am going to miss her greatly is a gross understatement. She was always there, no matter what, to offer an ear, or a helping hand, or even just one of those contagious smiles. I am praying that you can find some semblance of comfort. I love you."

"Laura, I was in Lansing with Scott when we heard the news. We will always remember Shawn's contagious smile. We are so blessed to have known her. Stopped by the house to give you a hug, but missed you. Praying for God's grace and comfort as you go through this difficult time. Shawn will not be forgotten. "

"I?ve been thinking all day about what words to write about Shawn, and nothing I?ve come up with does her justice. She was such a big part of so many of my fondest middle school and high school memories. I remember convincing her to wear a very girly, satin and lace dress to some school event (which she was gracious about, even though I?m sure she hated it) and interviewing her for the school paper for being on the football team. There were also every day fun times, laughing and talking about music and boys. While our lives took different roads after graduation, every so often I would run into her around town, and she always gave me a warm smile and took the time to catch up. I couldn?t tell you when the last time I ran into her was, but I remember how she lit up when you talked about her son; it was clear how very proud she was of him and how happy he made her. I wish there were more I could say to bring her family and loved ones comfort in this difficult time, but you?ll be in my thoughts and prayers. "
