Janet Carol Kennedy, 74, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Kingston, NY, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at home with her family by her side. She was born July 24, 1946 in Kingston, NY, daughter of the late Nelson and Eva (DeGraff) Brodhead. Janet was married to Robert Kennedy; they wed in November of 1974.

Janet loved the lord and shared his love with others by working to meet their needs, often cooking for or inviting neighborhood or church children over for a meal. She was a devoted programmer at IBM before going back to school to pursue higher education. After obtaining her Master of Education degree from SUNY New Paltz, she went to work at Sullivan County BOCES in Liberty, New York as a teacher of special education until her retirement in 2010. While retired, Janet had the chance to pursue her love of traveling the country and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Kennedy; her children, Angela Kemp of Michigan, Robert Kennedy and his wife Luisa of Florida, Paul Kennedy of Kingston, and Carrie (Kennedy) Rosario and her husband Alex of North Carolina; her siblings, Nelson Brodhead, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Woodstock, Shirley Wade of Kingston, Dolores Costello and her husband William Sr. of Kingston, Lawrence Brodhead and his wife Patricia of Kingston, Alice Sarv and her husband Tony of Florida, Thelma Brodhead of New Paltz, Barbara Miller and her husband Gerald of Kingston, Chester Brodhead and his wife Karen of Kingston, Beverly Harris and her husband Lynn of Oklahoma, and Marcia Wenzel and her husband Edward of North Carolina; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Raymond Brodhead, Nathan "Pete" Brodhead, and Eugene Brodhead.

"Aunt Janet use to babysit us when we lived on Morgan Hill Rd in West Hurley and she use to drive a corvair and we would hear that car come up the road and we say here comes Aunt Janet and we knew what that meant if you did not eat all your dinner and veggies when you came down in the morning to get cereal she tell you your breakfast is in the ref last nights dinner and she is the reason i love veggies love you and will miss your beautiful smile love you"
