Kathryn "Katie" Miller
April 5, 1940 - February 21, 2021

Kathryn "Katie" Miller, 80, of Hurley, NY, passed away on Sunday February, 21, 2021 at home surrounded by those who loved her. She was born April 5, 1940 in San Antonio, TX , daughter of the late Norbert and Genieve (O'Connell) Wolslegel and was married to her husband of 38 years, Michael J. Miller.

Katie was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1958. She later received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Plattsburgh and her Master's Degree in Education from SUNY New Paltz. Katie retired from the Kingston City School District where she worked 38 years as an elementary school teacher.

She was a Parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church in Kingston. In addition to spending time with her family (especially Sunday family dinners), Katie also enjoyed; reading, designing floral arrangements, gardening, and playing bridge.

Katie is survived by her husband Michael J. Miller of Hurley, her children, Lisa Sammons of NH, Maureen deHaan and her husband Tom of Kingston, Christopher Sammons and his wife Erika of Hurley, her grandson, Andrew Sammons, her siblings, John "Jack" Wolslegel and his wife Susan of Troy, NY, Margaret "Peggy" Spadafora and her husband Frank of FL, Sharon Rothman and her husband Sol of NJ, Alice McCall of NC, and Ellen Zappala and her husband Tom of MA, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Katie's caregivers, Mary Ellen Coon, Cindy Vaslewski, Porscha VanDyke, Dee Shiskey, and Debbie Goodman, as well as Hudson Valley Hospice.

Burial will follow in Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, NY.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund for a graduating senior from Kingston High School pursuing a degree in Elementary Education is being established in Katie's memory.
