Joan D. DeNeve
October 1, 1931 - February 18, 2021

Joan DeNeve (nee Cassidy), age 89, passed away at home on February 18, 2021.

Joan was welcomed into the world on October 1, 1931, at home, in Camden, NJ to Franklin and Sophie Cassidy. She grew up in Camden and graduated from Woodrow Wilson HS with the class of 1949. She worked for Campbell Soup Company for many years as an Executive Secretary. On February 23, 1952, Joan married the true love of her life, George J. DeNeve, Jr. and in a few years, moved to Moorestown where they spent their married lives together. Before George passed in 1994, they traveled the country indulging in their favorite past time, golfing. He told her that he could make her a Club Pro if she would only listen to his instructions (she didn't). After George's passing, Joan continued playing golf and traveling with her family. She was always available as a babysitter and dog-sitter. And as an avid Dean Martin fan, Joan could be seen at parties singing and dancing to his songs. Joan was loving and devoted to her family.

She is survived by her sisters Ruby Hansel (late George) and Jacqueline Watson (late David); nieces Nancy Hughes, Linda Maher and her Godchild Jacqueline Burt (Russell); nephew David Watson (Sharon); and Great-nephews David Watson (Jennifer), and Jacob Watson and Great-niece Cassidy Burt, and many more extended family and friends. All of these people she loved and touched deeply.

Family and friends are invited to attend gravesite services on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill at 11:00. The family will meet at Gardner Funeral Home, Runnemede, 10:00 to join procession to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's memory to Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, 3906 Church Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054. Due to Covid-virus restrictions at this time, we are planning to hold a memorial service in the near future to celebrate Joan's life.
