Walter Breedlove Jr. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. Masonic service, funeral home. MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Walter S. Breedlove Jr., 90, Muscatine, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the Muscatine Care Center. The Rev. Hal Green will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Ronald Sturms, Robert F. Phillips, Douglas Schroeder, Ladd Steinmetz, Tim Verink and Jessie Spitznogle. Honorary casket bearers are Maurice Reed Donald W. Carver, Dr. L. D. Gatzke, Michael Hagerty, Fred Reusswig and William Schafenacker. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church. Memorials may be directed to Wesley United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Breedlove was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Missouri, the son of Walter and Loreta White Breedlove Sr. He married Mary Stump Oct. 20, 1957, at Wesley United Methodist Church. He was in the U.S. Army from 1943-46 during World War II. He was the head of the Reprographics Department at Stanley Consultants for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Grand Lodge of Iowa AF and AM Iowa Lodge No. 2, Grand Council, Royal and Select Master of Iowa, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Mason of Iowa, The Grand Commandry of Knight Templar, Muscatine York Rite Bodies, 50-year member of the Elks Lodge of Muscatine No. 304, American Legion Iowa Post No. 27 PUFL member and life and charter member Partner Club-Golf. He enjoyed golfing and was known as 'Dr. Golf'. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Robert E. Breedlove and wife Kay of Kewanee, Ill.; two sisters, Helen Schmitt of Denver, Colo., and Alyce E. Lenz of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
