Pearl Pauline Peery
September 8, 1928 - February 23, 2021

Pearl Pauline Peery, age 92 of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Independence Village in Ankeny. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will take place on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The daughter of Lewis Lem and Fannie Estella (Plunkett) Stephens, Pearl was born on September 8, 1928, in Fulton County, Georgia. On June 7, 1952, she was united in marriage to Donald Peery. from this union, their only child Darrell Lee was born. Pearl was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church for over 50 years and enjoyed bible study and was a member of the Women's club. She loved Sunday drives with her family and helping her husband on the farm. Her biggest joys were raising her son Darrell and spending time with the family watching her grandbabies and great-grandbaby grow. She was a great cook and baker. She always had a huge garden and canned everything she could think of. And even made the best homemade ketchup.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Donald; a daughter-in-law, Patti Peery; three grandchildren, Matthew Peery, Kenny (Anna Keller) Thorson and Melissa (Roger) Mann; four great-grandchildren, Jordy Morrill, Gracey Mann, Robert Mann, Haleigh Sovara, a sister, Virginia Rolader (Tucker, GA), and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Pearl in death was her parents, her son Darrell in 2017, and her siblings; Ernest Stephens, Ray Stephens, Reuben Stephens, Frances Adams, and Dorothy Stephens.

Tributes
