RUTH FROEHNER MUSCATINE, Iowa - Ruth Froehner, 92, formerly of 7 Geneva Drive, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Lutheran Homes. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2005, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the funeral home. Reverend Paul Rekward of the Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Casket bearers will be Bernard Roth, Lisa Kessler, Gregory Staack, Jeffrey Staack, Devin Staack, and Christian Staack. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Ruth was born on August 4, 1912, in Edgemont, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Myrtle Brimm Wittich. She married William Harold Froehner on February 17, 1935, in Muscatine. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the Lady Elks, Hospital Auxiliary Guild and was a former member of the Geneva Golf and Country Club. She was partner in Froehner Insurance Agency for many years. Survivors include two daughters, Janet Snow and husband, William, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Judith Staack and husband, Charles, of Muscatine; and three grandchildren, Gregory Staack of Aiken, South Carolina, Jeffrey Staack of Atlanta, Georgia, and Lisa Snow Kessler of Shrewbury, Massachusetts. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, on July 22, 1997, two sisters, Alice Walker and Mona Thomasson and a brother, William Wittich.
