In loving memory of

Richard "Dick" Rollenhagen

Richard (Dick) Rollenhagen, age 93, of Fruitport, passed away February 24, 2021 with his wife Delores holding his hand. Dick was born in Muskegon and raised in Holton, MI. He joined the US Army at age 18 with his twin brother Robert and served his country in Germany. He came home, finished High school and married Delores in 1950. Five children followed. He was a barber, owning his own shop in Muskegon and Grand Haven. He started a second career at age 40 as a MI state Park ranger/manager at several parks-Waterloo, Muskegon, Lake Gogebic, Fayette, Holland and retired from Mitchell State Park in Cadillac. Because of his love for the outdoors this was a job he loved. He was a member of Holton Methodist Church and the VFW. He enjoyed owning a sailboat, fishing and hunting, camping and traveling with family and friends. He was a great storyteller and always ready with a joke or two. He was an avid reader, especially history, loved his dogs throughout his life and enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers. He made many projects with his wood working skills including well loved toys for his grandchildren. Grandchildren also hold his Easter poem scavenger hunts and "got you last" games among the great memories.
He is lovingly missed by "his bride" of 70 years, Delores (Young) Rollenhagen. Children: Jim (Sandy) Rollenhagen of Coopersville, Pam (Doug) Joslyn of Spring Lake, Mark (Carrie) Rollenhagen of Florence, WI, Debra (Steve) Wallace of Muskegon, Brian Rollenhagen of Fruitport. 12 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren.
