R. RUTH ESTABROOK MUSCATINE, Iowa - R. Ruth Estabrook, 93, of Muscatine, died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Lutheran Homes. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2005, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street. Reverend Paul Rekward of the Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Casket bearers will be Chris Carl, Brian Carl, Mike Safley, Dave Safley, Tim Safley, Charles Estabrook, and Bill Mueller. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2005, at the funeral home. Ruth was born on August 16, 1911, in Muscatine, the daughter of David W. and Mary L. Kincaid Brown. She married William G. Estabrook on August 16, 1927, in Davenport. She worked as a bookkeeper for Asthalter's Book Store and Pape's Office Supply. Survivors include one daughter, Kathryn Ann Safley, of Muscatine, two daughter's-in-law, Edith Estabrook of Muscatine and Rosalie Brown of Milan, Missouri; 16 grandchildren, Peggy Carl, Mike Safley, Pat Safley, Dave Safley, Julie Engels, Diane Fordyce, Rosemary Swearengen, Paula LaGrange, Becky Mueller, Shelly Harper, Charles Estabrook, Melissa Tucker, Chad Estabrook, Diane Terrill, Tina Estabrook and Sara Kauffman; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1976, and two sons, Charles William and George Thomas Estabrook; one daughter, Mary Call; and five grandchildren.
