MORNING SUN, Iowa #45;- Cleola 'Cleo' Hazel Lihs, 93, formerly of Wapello, died Monday, April 18, 2005, at the Morning Sun Care Center, Morning Sun. The Rev. John Gaulke will officiate the services. Burial will be at Fulton Cairo Cemetery, rural Morning Sun. A memorial fund has been established for the Wapello Community Ambulance Service. Mrs. Lihs was born Sept. 6, 1911, Keosauqua, the daughter of Jesse Michael and Della Mae Godown Thomas. She married Herman August Lihs Sept. 11, 1931, in Columbus Junction. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1996. She had done custodial work for various homes and businesses. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, Wapello. She enjoyed reading, bowling, playing bingo and cards. She loved her family, especially going on fishing trips with them. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Geiger and husband Gary of Wapello; two sons, Max Lihs of Bettendorf and Craig E. Lihs and wife Marilyn of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and a sister, Mildred Lake of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson; three sisters; and four brothers.
