'Granny' Olinger, 86, Muscatine, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Unity Hospital. The Rev. John Brown will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Brian Bishop, Mike 'Beaver' Bishop, Steve McCrabb, John Puckett, Carl Luttrull and Willy Morgan. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Mrs. Olinger was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of J. Cole and Mary E. Roof McDonald. She married Donald L. Olinger April 21, 1944, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death Oct. 28, 1965. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Auxiliary and Musserville United Methodist Church. She owned and operated the Oregon Trail Restaurant. Survivors include three daughters, Clara J. McCleary and husband Tom, Barbara A. Baker and husband Don, and Darla J. Olinger, all of Muscatine; a sister, Alberta Wake of Shepherdsville, Ky.; nine grandchildren, Richard Olinger, Scott Baker, Vicki Fitchner, Donna Ritz, Don Baker Jr., Cindy J. Haller, Tina A. Kammerer, Tom McCleary Jr., and Lisa I. Estabrook; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Richard; six brothers; four sisters; and a grandson, Trevor Olinger.
