"I had the honor of knowing Dave when we both worked at FBL (2001 -2010). Some of the best, most thought provoking conversations I remember having during that time were those with Dave. To Dave's adult children: your Dad was a smart, yet humble, giant of a human being. Donna Emerson, Urbandale, Iowa"

"I had the privilege of befriending Dave years ago during our respective days as a competitive powerlifters. Dave was a determined competitor, hard-working and always open to helping others improve themselves. More so, Dave was a humble and 'gentle giant,' and his contributions in this life made others better. RIP, Dave. James Thacker Estes Park, CO"
