In loving memory of

Jason Allan Mealhouse
August 2, 1971 - March 18, 2021

Jason "Jay" Allan Mealhouse, 49, of Fridley passed away unexpectedly March 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, David Mealhouse. Survived by daughter Danielle (Ryan), mother Maryjo Smith (Roy), brother Christopher; grandmother Betty Mealhouse; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Through hunting, fishing, and hiking, Jay was a lover of all things outdoors. Jay spent countless hours as a child enjoying these things with his dad and brother, Chris. Jay and Chris would continue this love throughout their lives. He then shared this passion with his daughter Danielle as soon as she could walk, teaching her to fish and hunt, and taking her on trips to Mount Rushmore and other National Parks. Jay also had a keen eye for art and used his talent in creating tattoos for himself and friends. Though Jay struggled with inner demons for a great deal of his life, his heart could not have been larger. He spent time creating artwork for friends and family, and holding onto many sentimental items to keep those happy memories close to him. If you are struggling with your own inner demons, please remember how loved you are and how much those around you want to help. A memorial for Jason will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 1-4pm at Choice Cremation (7398 University Ave NE, Fridley, MN 55432)

"I will dearly miss Jay, and his passion for the outdoors, and his continuous jokes and playful nature. We shared a hundred or more times together, weather it be in the boat, on the grouse trails, or searching for those famous Morel mushrooms, in which he dearly loved. He often spoke about his Beautiful daughter Danielle, and shared many fun tales of their relationship etc. He loved his brother Chris, who is my Best friend, and together we had many fun adventures while filming or taking pics for our Extreme Outdoor AdventureZ club. He loved his family period. I want to express in my heart, the deepest sympathy, and condolences for The Mealhouse family and friends. Jay will be missed, but never forgotten. He will live on every grouse trail I walk. He will be in the woods every time we go mushroom hunting. Lastly, he will always have a spot in my boat, every time we go fishing. R.I.P. Jay my friend! "

"Somehow "I am sorry for your loss" seems inadequate. I knew Jay through my brother Jeremy. Jay was a great guy. Kind, funny. It is rare that my brother tells a story about hunting that doesn't start with "Jay and I" I know my brother will treasure those memories. My heart aches for his daughter and the rest of his family and friends. "
