Darrell W. Burbey, 76, of Ames, Iowa, died Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Ps. 116:15.

Born July 17, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, Darrell W. Burbey, Jr. was the son of Dorothy M. (Lee) and Darrell W. Burbey, Sr. He grew up and received his education in Downers Grove, Illinois. Darrell was married to Linda Ann Woisard on October 4, 1980, in Aurora, IL. They were blessed with six children, Erin, Janelle, Charlene, Alena, Christin, and Tom. Over the years, Darrell and Linda lived throughout the United States, including Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, New Mexico, and Iowa.
Darrell will be remembered for his friendly and social nature, and for his love of family. He enjoyed traveling, puzzles, and watching his favorite television programs.
Survivors include Linda; six children, Erin (Hans) Stauffer of Dayton, OH, Janelle Burbey of Ames, Charlene (Gabriel) Rios of Clovis, NM, Alena (Robert) Miller of Radcliffe, Christin Burbey of Iowa, and Tom Burbey of Ames; eight grandchildren, Timothy, Gabriella, Annelise, Evangeline, Royal, Destiney, Hannah, and Elizabeth; a brother, Matthew (Jan) Burbey of Bowling Brook, IL; and other extended family members and friends.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Michael Burbey and William Burbey.
Ames Monument & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the care of Darrell and his family.
