Carol Mae McCoy
Canton - Carol Mae McCoy, 97, of Canton, passed away at 5:40 am Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the Loft Nursing Home in Canton. She was born on April 25, 1923 in Farmington to Lora and Laura (Nibbelin) Dalton. Carol married Harry Otis McCoy on June 20, 1944 in Canton. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2012. Also preceding her death were her parents.
Surviving are three children; Robert "Bob" (Susan) McCoy of Benton, KY, Sharon (Fred) Odendahl of Canton and Pat (Rick) Cobb of Springfield, one brother Ralph Dalton of Peoria, seven grandchildren; Amanda (Allen) Luthy, Mitchell McCoy, Christy (Brent) Rogers, Jay (Cori) Dawson, Ryan Essig, Michelle Essig and Meghan Essig and five great grandchildren; Tyler, Nate, Nick, Claire and Mylee
Carol was a 64-year member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton, where she had taught Kindergarten Sunday School, also helping with Bible School and the Rebekah Women's Sewing group for many years. She was a member of the Women's American Legion Auxiliary. Carol was a 1941 graduate of Farmington High School. She was a homemaker and also worked as a sales associate at Knepp's and JC Penny's for 15 years.
Services will be 11 am Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. Memorials can be made to Children's Department at Wesley United Methodist Church.
