James "Jim" Gross, 81, died suddenly at his home on Thursday, April 1, 2021. He leaves behind his 2 children, Steve Gross and Susan Hoyle, and his 3 grandchildren, Jacob Gross, Audrey Hoyle, and Wyatt Hoyle.
Jim was born in Gueydan, LA, the son of Sydney and Martha Gross. Jim attended Tulane University and graduated from Southwest Louisiana. Jim met his wife, Rachelle Gross on a blind date while attending Tulane. They had an impressive 53-year marriage before her passing. Jim spent his nearly 30-year career as a research chemist for Shell Oil where he made and maintained many life-long friendships.
Jim had a passion for gardening and animals. Friends frequently sought out his help with reviving their plants. Jim's greatest passion, however, was his grandchildren. He loved being around them and watching them grow.
A graveside service was held on Monday, April 5, 2021, at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery.
