Edward R. Tracy
November 16, 1947 - April 2, 2021

Edward R. Tracy of Bradenton FL, 73, died April 2, 2021. He was born November 16, 1947, in New York City, the son of Edward Tracy and Julia (Tucci) Tracy. Ed grew up primarily in River Edge, NJ prior to leaving for college.

Ed graduated from St. Bernard College in Cullman, AL, class of 1969, and obtained an MBA from the University of Southern Mississippi, class of 1971. After completing his undergraduate degree, Ed married the love of his life, Sue Dennis, whom he met his freshman year at St. Bernard College. They celebrated 51 years of marriage in August 2020.

As a devout Catholic, Ed was a long-time member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in High Point, NC, and currently St. Joseph Church in Bradenton, FL. He was also a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years, where he lived out the organization's principles of charity, fraternity, unity, and patriotism. He played a vital role in growing Operation LAMB, which contributes to agencies that assist people with intellectual disabilities. Under his guidance, multiple charity events, such as the annual 5K Run for Disabilities were established.

Ed's service to the community extended beyond the Knights of Columbus. He was instrumental in leading youth soccer, swimming, and basketball programs in multiple communities. In addition, he volunteered for North Carolina Special Olympic events.

Ed was predeceased by his twin brother Raymond Tracy, as well as his parents. Surviving, in addition to his wife Sue (Dennis) Tracy, are his son Michael Tracy and wife Stacy of Cranberry Township PA, daughter Jacqueline (Tracy) Crombie and husband Christopher of Bradenton FL, sister Patricia Liddell of River Edge NJ, sister-in-law Eileen Tracy (wife of Raymond) of Wallingford CT, niece Siobhan Tracy (daughter of Raymond) of Boston MA, grandchildren: Elizabeth Tracy, Austin Tracy, Cole Crombie, Carys Crombie, and numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 1:00 pm, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point, NC. Visitation will be 12:30 -1:00 in the Gathering Space. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Ed in a special way are asked to make a donation to Operation LAMB, 3617 Shadow Ridge Drive, High Point, NC 27265.
