Viola Mae Payne, age 84, passed away in her home from natural causes on 3/28/21. Viola was born 10/23/36 to Phillip and Leona Fox. She married Donald Payne on 12/19/53. After Don was out of the Army they settled in Grand Haven and raised their 4 children. Vi was a home maker who dedicated her life to caring for others including family members in need and foster children. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and many other crafts; she made many cherished gifts for family. She is survived by her husband Donald, children Russell and Jayson Payne, Dawn (Petri) Peltoniemi, grandchildren Tracey (John) Lakatos, Russell (Dana) Payne Jr, Toni (Clint) Vink, Jacob (Brandy) Payne, Erin Racey and Vanessa Peltoniemi, 9 great grandchildren, siblings Bonnie Brown and Chuck (Jan) Delaney, many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her son Norman Payne, granddaughter Samantha Racey and sister Phyllis Price. Family plan to hold a private memorial service later this spring.
