Alice Whitlock MUSCATINE, Iowa - Alice E. Whitlock, 85, of Muscatine, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at the Muscatine Care Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, 2907 Mulberry Ave. The Rev. Don Swanson of First Baptist Church will officiate. Casket bearers will be Tom Hammann, Joe Hammann, Paul Hagens, Charles Whitlock III, Jeff Willet, Brad Hamner, Gary Perrilles, Robbie Hammann, Eric Hammann and Case Simerl. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in her name. Alice Estella Metcalfe was born May 20, 1920, in Muscatine, the daughter of James Irwin and Martha Lena (Smith) Metcalfe. On Jan. 24, 1942, she married Charles S. Whitlock in Kahoka, Mo. She was an active 60-year member of the First Baptist Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. She and her husband owned and operated several restaurants throughout Iowa. She will be deeply missed by her two sons, Robert Whitlock of Memphis, Mo., and Roger Whitlock and his wife, Marcia, of Muscatine; three daughters, Barbara Hagens and her husband, Tim, of Muscatine, Patricia Willet and her husband, Robert, of Memphis, Mo., and Marlene Hammann and her husband, Charles, of Columbia, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, one great-granddaughter, Amanda Simpson, two brothers, James Metcalfe, Jr. and LeRoy Metcalfe and four sisters, Genevieve Hicks, Edna Mae Stacher, Eloise Zybarth and Alberta Black.
