MUSCATINE, Iowa - David Metzger, 56, of Muscatine, found peace on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
There will be a Celebration of Life from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the American Legion in Muscatine. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family in care of, Sally Metzger. Online Condolences may be made to www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
David was born on September 21, 1964, in Muscatine, the son of Ernest and Vera Morgan Metzger. He married Sally Seefeldt on September 28, 1990, in Muscatine.
On April 2, 2021, David was doing what he loved, working on his Monte Carlo when a brain aneurysm suddenly hit him. David finally had peace on April 4, 2021.
He enjoyed everything outdoors, either fishing, hunting, or just spending time with all family members and friends. David also enjoyed watching drag racing or Nascar on those rainy days in the garage.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 30 years, Sally; his children, Michelle Thurness and her husband, Luke, David Metzger Jr. (DJ) and his fiancé, Rachel Anthony, and Julia Metzger; his bird dog, Molly; six grandchildren, Logan, Kylie, Mason, Aliya, Dawsyn, and Oliver; his brothers and sisters, Barb Foster, Wayne (Jake) Metzger and his wife, Carol, Carolyn Bailey, Sheila Burke, Keith Metzger and his wife, Jana, and Jody Metzger and his wife, Marci; his father and mother-in-law, Steve and Jeanie Seefeldt; sister-in-law, Sherry Maylone; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Vera; his grandparents; and special brother-in-law, Jerry Burke. May they all rest in peace.
