In loving memory of

Viola P. Tweeddale
November 15, 1943 - April 8, 2021

Viola (Vi) Tweeddale of Hurley NY, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family and pets on April 8, 2021. Vi was 77 years old.

She was born and raised in Red Cloud, Nebraska and moved to Queens, NY at the age of 20, where she met her husband, William, while working at Western Union. In 1973, they moved to Hurley to raise their 3 children.

Wherever Vi lived, she always stayed connected with her family and friends back in Nebraska, and she never stopped rooting for the Cornhuskers. Although family was Vi's greatest pride and joy, she also dedicated her life to being a friend to everyone she met. She volunteered for over 25 years with Red Cross and Welcome Wagon. She loved animals as much as she loved people and was rarely ever seen at home without a cat on her lap or a dog by her side.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William; her daughter and son-in-law, Cora and Tim Caulfield of Guilderland NY; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Laura Tweeddale of Brooklyn NY; daughter Julie Tweeddale of Atlanta GA; and 5 grandchildren Justin, Brandon, Colin, Caitlyn Caulfield and Tristen Tweeddale; and numerous fur babies. She was predeceased by her mother, Bulah Kennedy and sister, Mildred Gamble. Anyone blessed to have known her was truly fortunate to have had someone with such a loving and beautiful soul touch their life.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401 where family and friends may visit on Sunday April 11, 2021 from 1pm to 4pm. "Aunt Viola (Vi) was an absolutely beautiful person who loved her husband Bill and our three incredible cousins, Cora, Rob, and Julie. Aunt Vi was the lynchpin in keeping her family connected with her Nebraska family by traveling to Red Cloud via plane and several car trips. As kids and as adults, we loved it when Aunt Vi was coming and bringing our cousins. We have so many memories to cherish! Aunt Vi loved to laugh, joke, was always positive, corrected us when we needed it, and was abundantly generous. I will never be able to pay her back for generosity, but it was deeply appreciated. She always send Christmas cards and cards for other occasions. My family was so blessed that Aunt Vi, Cora and Rob were able to visit our home and attend the wedding of our oldest daughter Rachel. That time, like all the others, will be cherished. What made it even more special was that my grown children were able to experience her humor, joy, and presence. I love you Aunt Vi and have peace knowing you are now with other family members who are celebrating your arrival! As requested, in lieu of flowers, a donation was made to the Ulster County SPCA in honor of Aunt Viola as she loved animals and humans alike. We will miss the many, many cat videos that she sent - I mean "a lot" of cat vides LOL! We also want to tell Bill, Cora, Rob, Julie that we love you all! - Scott & Wendy Moger Family and Doug & Marcene Moger"

"Sending my love to all of aunt Vi?s children, uncle Bill, grandchildren, and extended family. Truly one of the kindest people I have known, I will always remember her poking fun at grandpa Harry for their dueling beloved sports teams and her sweet best friend chatting with grandma ?Rosie.? I will miss her birthday cards she sent me every single year of my life without fail even when I moved to CA. I feel so lucky to have had someone like aunt Vi and I know there are so many who feel the same. When I was born she was introduced as my aunt and that she will always be!"
