Margaret Beal
August 8, 1931 - April 11, 2021

Margaret Gene Beal, age 89, of Collins, Iowa passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Collins Community Center in Collins, Iowa. Her funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 7:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Iowa Center, Iowa. Please follow all social distancing guidance and masks will be required.

Margaret was born on August 8, 1931 in Collins, Iowa to Thomas and Blanch (Fry) Bloomfield. She grew up in Maxwell and graduated from Maxwell High School in 1949. On December 23, 1950 she married Richard Beal Sr., the couple eventually settled in Collins where they raised their family together. She began working at Donnelly Marketing in Nevada, Iowa in 1960 to buy the family a refrigerator, she retired after 30 years of dedicated service. Margaret would do anything for anybody and always put others needs before her own. She was a very loving and caring woman. Margaret and Richard celebrated 70 years of marriage on December 23, 2020. She loved her husband and her family above anything else. She was an example to her family. She taught them what love truly is. When asked how she stayed married for 70 years she said "Well, he worked nights and I worked days (then she giggled), and I've always lived by 'love him and never leave him". She always loved unconditionally. No matter what happened all her family and friends knew her house was a safe place and a loving space. Margaret loved Christmas time and decorating for the holidays. Everyone in town knew when they came to Margaret's house for Trick or Treat the kids would get candy and the adults got a bag of freshly made Carmel Corn. Margaret was also known for her homemade jelly. She had a magnificent grape vine in her yard. It has been said that she made the best jelly this side of the Skunk River. Margaret loved her flowers and her Magnolia tree too.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Richard Beal Sr. Of Collins, Iowa, Her sons John (Mille) Beal of Arizona and Richard (Rita) Beal Jr. of Chariton, IA, her daughters Deborah (Jim) Gauch of Baxter, IA, and Darlene (the late Gary) Propp of Collins, IA, 4 grandchildren, Donna (Anthony) Binning of Leon, IA, Lisa (Shane) Hall of State Center, IA, Sara (Andrew) Coree of Colins, IA and Amber (Lars Mattson) Lambert of Des Moines, IA, 9 great-grandchildren Jessica, Carter, Alec, Tyler, Hannah, Hunter, Grayce, Brooklyn and Steven. Her 3 (almost 4) great-great grandchildren Colson (soon to arrive Kacey), Katelyn and Murphy. Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and good friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Blanch Bloomfield, Her brothers, Jim Bloomfield, Paul Bloomfield and her sister Patricia Smith, and grandson Thomas Beal.
