Dorothy Dunshee
August 8, 1935 - April 14, 2021

Dorothy "Doe" C. Dunshee, 85, of Collins, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa surrounded by her loving family. Per her wishes she will be cremated, and a private family service will be held. A celebration of life for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Rich and Chris Maxwell's house (608 4th St., Collins, Iowa). She will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery in Collins, Iowa.

Doe was born on August 9, 1935 in Collins to Roland and Beulah (Evans) Long. She grew up in Collins and graduated from Collins High School in 1953. On July 8, 1954 she married the love of her life Bill Dunshee at the Collins Methodist Church in Collins, Iowa. The couple resided in Collins where Dorothy worked for Exchange State Bank for 42 years. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, Sunday dinners with family and friends, traveling with family especially the cruises and going to Ireland, cleaning, painting her house on mandatory vacation from work every year, and spending time with her loving dog Mattie.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her husband Bill Dunshee, formerly of Collins, IA; children Cindy (Keith) Patterson of Ankeny, IA, Chris (Rich) Maxwell of Collins, IA, and Bill (Terri) Dunshee of Ames, IA; grandchildren Kevin (Kaity) Patterson, Kent (Laura ) Patterson, Kyle (Julia) Patterson, Chad (Abbey) Maxwell, Abbey (Kyle) Krampe, Ben (Chantelle) Maxwell, Jake (Jessi) Dunshee, Kelsey (Jason) Kang, and Kate Dunshee; Kellen, Krue, Kael, Kylee, and Kase Patterson, Kaylyn and Kamdyn Krampe, Blake, Brecken, Noah, Annie, Owen Maxwell, baby girl Kang on the way; sister Bonnie (Duane) Severson; many nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

Doe was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Forest Long and Dick Long.

Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care, in Baxter, has been entrusted with the care of Doe and her family.
