Clarice Knutson age 85, of Ankeny, formerly of Huxley, died at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital, in Des Moines, on April 19, 2021. A gathering of friends and family will be 4-6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church, 209 North Second Ave, Huxley, Iowa. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church, 209 North Second Ave. Huxley, Iowa Burial will follow at Fjeldberg Lutheran Cemetery. Masks will be required and social distancing when possible.

Clarice was born on August 5, 1935 in rural Hamilton County, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Amy (Hall) Borwick. She graduated from Roland High School and married James Owen Knutson Sr. on January 30, 1954 at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. The couple farmed for thirty years in the Huxley area. Clarice started her banking career at First National Bank in Ames and later retired from South Story Bank in Huxley in 2004. She would tell every customer they were her favorite. Clarice had a passion for music singing in the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church Choir, in a ladies Trio and often for just enjoyment she carried a song in her heart. She was a Hawkeye fan, finding time to watch a game and cheer them on she loved Jim Z. She enjoyed family always showing unconditional love.

Clarice is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Marla Knutson and their family Craig and Julie and their children, Braelyn, Alana, and Claire Knutson, Ryan Knutson, Matt Knutson, Wayne and Carol Knutson and their daughter and family, Danni Lee and Chris and their daughters, Makayla and Emma Clover, Dan and Carol Knutson and their family Nick and Abbey and their children, Lindley and Ellison Knutson, Danielle Knutson , Kelsey and Nick and their daughter, Karoline Crosse, James O. Jr. and Shelly Knutson, and family Madison and Cody Knutson, and several nieces and nephews.

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, twin infant sons Ronald and Donald, her husband James Owen Knutson Sr. a sister, Lucille Friest, and a brother Jerald Borwick.
