It is with immense sadness in our hearts that we announce that our beloved Jorge Gak (Pichin), our Papa, went to heaven early this morning. We have no doubt that he was greeted by his wife, our beautiful bubbe, Olga after 24 long years apart. We were once told that our grandfather was a national treasure, and I don't think we could describe him any better if we tried. While he was successful, hard working, a protecter, the life of the party, the best story teller of all time, a jokester, and always the best dressed, most importantly... he had a heart of gold and loved people so well, and people loved him back. He taught many of us many life lessons that we will cherish and live by forever.
Our Papa was a very very "young" 86 years old, he had more friends and was more social than anyone we knew. He has shown so many of us exactly what it means to live life to the fullest. He loved any reason to celebrate and party, which is exactly what he did leading up to his final days with us. While our hearts are absolutely broken at the sudden and unexpected loss, we can confidently say that he would be immensely disappointed if he knew we were all crying as opposed to celebrating the beautiful life that he created and lived for his glorious 86 years!
While we may not all be able to get together to celebrate his life in person the way we would like to, it would mean alot to our family if you could take this time and reflect on and or share your favorite memory/photo of him. Heaven gained a beautiful angel today, Papa you will be missed by SO so many. We love you, forever and always you will be in our heart. Thank you for always being the best brother, dad, uncle, grandfather, and friend to all of us.
