Jason Daniel Cutsinger was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 1, 1973 and passed away in Detroit, Michigan on April 15, 2021 from complications of COVID-19. He graduated from St. Francis de Sales college preparatory school where he was active in wrestling and had many friends. He studied Philosophy and World Religions at Eastern Michigan University, where a study abroad trip to Groningen, Netherlands led to the initial spark that ignited his passion for electronic music. He fostered that passion upon his return to the U.S., becoming a talented techno DJ, record store and label owner. Along with his partners Derrick & Fred Ortencio, Eric Ross, and Jeff Wallace, he founded Detor productions and threw some of the most legendary underground techno parties in Detroit history. He was also involved in helping to elevate the famous Motor Lounge into a world-class nightclub.
Jason began his career in Information Technology at Compuware Corporation in Detroit and went on to work for several other IT shops over the years. He then branched off to start his own IT managed services company with his partner Stuart Feravich. His most recent endeavor was with ZeroFee Solutions merchant services.
Jason began dating Jackie Krall in 1999. The two were married in 2003 and forged an inseparable and enduring love. They cherished their time spent together and enjoyed many adventures, domestically and abroad.
Jason was highly intelligent and well known as a great conversationalist. He enjoyed traveling the world, riding his bike, cultivating his garden, and playing tennis with his friend Dan Digue. He was an avid cat lover who had pet felines throughout his life. Most of all, Jason loved searching for the perfect techno track for his next DJ mix. He prided himself on having curated the best music collection around.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Larry Cutsinger; his birth mother, Christine Cutsinger; and his mother-in-law, Paula Krall. He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Cutsinger; mother, Judy (Ted) Wright; father-in-law Rick (Patty) Krall; brothers-in-law, Charlie Krall, Eric Krall, and Michael (Mary) Krall; nieces Myah, Fiona, Samantha, and Jalen; nephews Alex, Chase, Mikey, and Dayton; uncle Frank (Joyce) Nedveski, cousins Nathan Nedveski and Laura (Greg) Esposito; as well as many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

"You'll always be one of my best friends buddy. I'll never forget you. Much love. -TV"
"I remember catching up w/Jason over a FB chat turned phone call, after returning to the US w/new family in tow. We shared stories of our life/work abroad, investments, relationships, music, philosophy & DJ'ing as therapy through the years. I was so excited to spell out my new custom programmed way of hybridizing modern DJ software & various digital hardware to incorporate the beloved analog turntables we learned on without losing newer modern digital features that were now letting our mixes become more advanced/polished so to speak. He was so pleased to hear that the dying hands-on art form of DJ'ing Techno w/turntables was still in the game. We made tentative plans to get together at his place, when life allows it and fully explore this new/old love of ours. As we were finishing up that marathon call, I was telling him what an awesome path he forged with Jackie, and how I was a bit jealous of what I had missed back in the US when he stopped me. He proceeded to tell me he'd followed my story on FB, and he was the one with jealousy issues over my family, and how lucky I was to have that. Not gonna lie, in true Cutsy fashion he had me feeling proud & accomplished as we finished up our talk. Jason, Bruh, your family is unbelievably big & loving and we are hurting. Godspeed my friend, Love U Man! "
"Jackie and Cutsinger family, To say that Jason will be missed is an understatement. Jason was a mentor to myself and many of us in the Compuware days. The tributes and write-ups that many have offered have been moving. He used to talk about this amazing "mexican sandwich" from Mexican village and how he used to sit on a rooftop eating it and watching Tiger games from the rooftop of some building near Tiger Stadium. When I finally got the chance to try the mexican sandwich, he was right! I have probably ordered it 100+ times since. Think of him every time I order it and always will. Sometimes it is just the little things that keep someone in your thoughts. He had an impact on everyone in his orbit and though he is gone way too soon, he left a lifetime of influence. Deepest regrets for your loss."
"Please accept the sympathy and prayer of the family of St. Francis de Sales High School. Beginning in November of this year we shall remember Jason at our annual Mass for Deceased Alumni, Faculty, and Staff and invite family to participate. Once a Knight, always a Knight!"
"Despite loving working with Jackie, I hired Jason for a project with me back in 2016. I loved his energy and his ?tell ?em like it is? temperament. We became kindred spirits and Jackie, he and I shared life?s experiences in all its glory and hardships. Heaven got a good one. ??"
"Judy, My heart and care are coming to you at this most horrible time. The reason that this happens to such a special healthy man must be so hard to comprehend . Know that I pray for your healing and peace eventually "
"You are in my thoughts and prayers at this extremely difficult time in your life. No amount of words can express the loving sympathy that I wish to relate to you. As I can feel exactly what you are going through. It is the hardest part of your life to have to say good bye to your child. ?? May God?s peace be with you always. "
"Love the picture of Jason. That?s how I want to remember him! So hard to put obituary with that young man. You have my heartfelt condolences.? ?sincerely, Linda Chill"
