In loving memory of

Warren Robert Thompson
January 17, 1955 - April 17, 2021

Warren Thompson, 66, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, due to complications from Covid. He was born in Detroit, MI, the oldest son of George Thompson and Aileen Crow. He is survived by his daughter Karen Sonck; son Paul Thompson; son-in-law Anthony Sonck; daughter-in-law Kirstie Strother; his grandchildren Theodore Sonck, Kiara Thompson, Kassidy Thompson, and Benjamin Sonck; his former wife and mother of his children, Kathy Thompson; his younger brothers Roger and Steven; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his girlfriend Gerri Stuve. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Aileen, and his younger sister Phyllis.

Warren was a long-time Millwright, retired from Local 1102. He enjoyed fixing things and working with his hands. You could always find Warren working on cars or fixing up his house. Warren loved watching sports, playing fantasy sports leagues, and his bowling league. He always made time for family, and cherished being "Dad" and "Papa Warren." He taught us a lot of things except how to live without him.

A memorial gathering will take place Monday, May 3, 2021 from 12-4 pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 21705 Gratiot Avenue, Eastpointe, 48021.

"Warren was always such a kind man. I became so used to seeing him every Sunday or his massage, and sharing our stories, adventures, opinions, and life experiences. He spoke so highly of his kids and grand kids, girlfriend and even his ex wife. I can see him enjoying his boat out on the water now. And knocking down those bowling pins. I'm so grateful to have known him. He has a great legacy left behind him. "
