In loving memory of

Judith Kay Caldwell
October 25, 1948 - April 22, 2021

Judith (Judy) Caldwell was a caring and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away peacefully on April 22, 2021 at age 72 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Judy was born in Derry, Penn., to Catherine and Louis Sylvester, joining her older brother Jerry. She met her husband Jim Caldwell at Grove City College and started a family in Cleveland shortly thereafter. Together they had two sons, David and Joe, and later moved to Grosse Pointe, Mich. Judy's family (and the families eventually started by her sons) were the most cherished aspects of her very full and happy life. As her extended family grew, so did her love for it - especially her beloved four grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children.

Judy's care and warmth reached beyond her family. Her many friends provided her great joy - especially comparing stories about their families and their travels. She had a long and rewarding career as Certified Public Accountant. She was a person of deep religious faith, volunteering in countless ways to her church. Her interests and activities remained rich and varied late in life - especially when it came to travel, cooking and hosting meals for visiting family members or friends from every corner of her life.

A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 25 at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park, MI. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 26 at Noon at St. Paul on the Lake, 157 Lake Shore Rd., Grosse Pointe Farms, MI.

In lieu of flowers, we recommend a donation to the Pope Francis Center, https://popefranciscenter.org/donate/ , or St. Paul on the Lake Religious Education, http://stpaulonthelake.org/religious-education/ .

From left to right, all maiden names, me (Ruthie Parrish), Cherie Roadman, Kathy Maus, Reenie (Irene) Cramer, Judy, Charlene Chamberlain, and Sandy Ankney. And the other photo, our last class reunion, I am on the left and Carol Giles Carlson on the right. God Speed my friend. "

"Judy and I were great friends in Derry while growing up. Our entire group of girl friends were always planning our next 'pajama party', movie night at the Gem Theater, gathering on our towels at the Derry Pool, or parties at one another's houses. I will share picture of all of us when we rode our bikes to Bergman's Dairy for ice cream one summer afternoon. God Speed, Judy, you were a wonderful girl."

"I worked with Judy for the past 15 years since I started as an intern at Rehmann. She was always cheerful, fun, and kind, and she developed great relationships with her coworkers and clients. I remember laughing a lot with her in the office, at parties, and events she hosted. She was thoughtful and celebrated my first home purchase, my first baby; in general, she celebrated people's achievements I will truly miss her and am very sorry for your family's loss. She was an amazing woman! My sincere condolences, Liesl Morelli"

"Jim, David and Joe I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful wife and mother. Judy has all of you wrapped up tightly in her everlasting arms. She loved her family so very much and was proud of all of you. Working with her for a few years at Perrin has left an impression on me especially when she talked about her grandkids.(her face just lit up with the biggest smile) She told me when I become a grandmother I would understand. Well Judy I now understand what you?ve been telling me for years. And I do spoil them and send them home. (LoL) May God hold you in his loving arms now and forever. God Bless ?. "

"Judy was one of the most generous, kind and helpful people I have ever met. I worked with her when I was a manager in the audit department of Perrin Fordree many years ago. Her thorough knowledge of tax laws never ceased to amaze me and she welcomed the opportunity to share it with the staff with that big smile on her face at every step! She was always willing make time for you no matter what her schedule was like. Her attitude toward her position in the firm, co-workers, family and faith were always positive as well as loving in every way. She touched my heart in many ways and will always hold a very special place in my heart. I know you'll be watching over all of us just as you did every day of your life. There is a new angel in heaven. Rest in peace Judy. My prayers will be with Jim, David, Joe, the rest of your family and countless friends."

"Judy was the most spectacular cook who, along with Jim, hosted the best Christmas gatherings for the ?hunting group?! A person could sense her strong faith and immense love for her family in her actions and words. She had a great sense of humor (thanks for the sign at the cabin; ?What happens at the cabin stays at the cabin?!!) and was so generous! Watch over us, lovely lady. Love, Deanna "
