July 9, 1933 - April 24, 2021

Shirley Ann Lindsey, age 87 of Colfax, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at MercyOne in Des Moines. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Colfax Cemetery. Masks are required. There will be no visitation. The family will greet friends following the burial with a time of food and fellowship at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. Memorials may be directed to the Colfax Senior Center or the Colfax Fire Department. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com


The daughter of Ancel and Frances (Grover) Godwin, Shirley was born on July 9, 1933 in Des Moines. On March 21, 1953, she was united in marriage to Wilbur C. Lindsey. Shirley enjoyed playing Fast Track with her friends and family, playing cards, golfing for many years, but most of all spending time and teasing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Cindy (Will) Henderson, Debra (Bob) Wakitsch and Pam (Tom) Reed; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Wilbur, a son Craig, a sister, Marilyn and a brother, Paul.
