In loving memory of

Lenora Ladin
April 9, 1922 - April 23, 2021

Lenora "Lee" Turk Ladin was born in Danville, Virginia on April 9, 1922 and passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on April 23, 2021. She celebrated her 99th birthday just a few weeks ago. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Rose and Morris Turk, her brothers Sidney Turk, Percy Turk, Ted Turk, Ike Turk, Max Turk, Jack Turk, and her sisters Sylvia Turk Tilles and Florence Turk Magaziner.

Lee and her family moved to Houston when she was 9 years old from Danville, Va. Lee graduated from San Jacinto High School. After graduation, her focus and attention were centered around the only love of her life, Sidney S. Ladin. On January 19, 1941, they went to Galveston to elope. They had 48 magical years of marriage raising their family, entertaining friends, and travelling the world until Sidney passed away in 1989.

After that, Lee's focus was solely on her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She would often be seen around town in her custom red Lexus shuttling the kids to their various activities. Lee played golf into her 90's, loved antique auctions, and a glass of Crown Royal at the end of the day. She was not happy unless her four children, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren were all happy. That was her life and her legacy.

There is no single word to describe Lee Ladin. Class, Style, Grace, Beauty, Strength, Charisma, Dignity, and finally, her signature Smile. Individually those words all apply, but collectively, those words describe this incredible woman. Everyone that knew her loved her, and surely we will all miss her. Her light will be the brightest in the sky.

Lee is survived by her loving children, Lynn and Jerry Yellen, Phillip and Lara Ladin, Ronald and Jean Ladin, and Robin and Forest Dorn, her loving grandchildren Kris Yellen, Missy and Kevin Krantz, Brian and Rachel Ladin, Leisa and Andy Dillon, Leslie and Adam Strauss, Eric and Katy Ladin, Dr. Paige Dorn and John Gribbin, and Hunter and Alice Dorn. She is also survived her loving great grandchildren Ben Krantz, Sydney Krantz, Samantha Dillon, Cameron Dillon, Brent Ladin, Alex Ladin, Alexis Strauss, Ladin Strauss, Clara Gribbin, Theo Gribbin, Lenora Dorn, Abigail Dorn, Maxfield Ladin and Stormy Ladin . Lee is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. Her flame will continue to burn brightly from all of her family who will miss her dearly.

A special thanks to Dr. Theresa Vicroy for her many years of care and kindness, and to Lee's caregivers Ruth Charles, Alice Dixon, Sheryl Richardson, Pam Valladares, and San Juana Tovar.

There will be a private family service for Lee on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Beth Israel Cemetery. In lieu of customary remembrances, a donation can be made to Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services, Congregation Beth Israel, or to a charity of your choice.

"To all of Miss Lenora?s family my heart and prayers go out to you. My heart melted hearing the love in Jerry?s voice when he spoke of her so very often. She was such a lovely person though I think I only met her in person once or twice but I missed seeing her in the neighborhood at lunch time as she was coming to get her nails done. So beautiful she glowed from the inside. Please find comfort knowing she is in GOD?s memory."
