Winnie Isaacs, 91, died Thursday, April 22nd, following a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her
husband of 63 years, William Isaacs. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Kagan (Arnold) and
Linda Metter (Paul). She leaves a legacy of 5 grandchildren, Ryan Kagan (Hydee), Melanie
Spelkin (Dan), Jennifer Leventhal (Daniel), Kevin Metter (Deborah), and Julie Davis (Evan), and 12
great-grandchildren, Shira, Ari, Eli, Adam, Jonah, Abbie, Emma, Lilah, Gabriel, Will, Ethan, and Rafael.
Winnie was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on April 17, 1930.
She grew up in Johannesburg and went on to receive a Masters of Library Science. Willie and Winnie
immigrated to Houston, following their daughters, in 1980.
They were very active in the Houston Jewish community upon their arrival and volunteered with many
organizations throughout the decades they lived in Houston.
Winnie was a role model to all, exemplifying Jewish values in every aspect of her life.
