Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, Ill. Visitation: one hour prior to services Wednesday, funeral home. Eldon Wagner, 84, Eliza, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Mercer County Nursing Home. The Rev. Richard Bishop will officiate. Burial will be at Edgington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mercer County Nursing Home. Mr. Wagner was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Eliza Township, Mercer County, Ill., the son of Albert F. and Gladys Irwin Wagner. He married Helen Taylor on Feb. 22, 1941, in Muscatine, Iowa. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Muscatine, and was a lifelong resident of the Eliza area. He retired in 1982 from HON Industries, Muscatine. He had previously worked for Eliza School as a bus driver, Kent Feeds in Muscatine, Deane Frye Construction Co., Aledo, and was a farm hand for several area farmers. Survivors include his wife; a grandson, Steven Rossnagel and wife Kristina of Amarillo, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Kristopher Rossnagel, both of Amarillo; and a sister-in-law, Lois McCormick of Aledo. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Eldon Eugene Wagner; a daughter, Arlene Ann Rossnagel; two sisters, Anker Marilyn Doermann and Lucille Wagner; and his stepfather, Edgar Muchow.
