Services: 1 p.m. Monday, April 3, Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Lone Tree. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Sunday, April 2, funeral home. Harold J. Musser, 81, Lone Tree, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at the Lone Tree Health Care Center, Lone Tree, after a lingering illness. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery with military rites provided by Lone Tree American Legion Post 457. Memorials may be directed to Amenity Hospice Mr. Musser was born March 4, 1925, in Fremont Township, the son of Harry and Velma Wolters Musser. He married Letha Mae Aubrecht on Sept. 10, 1945, in Lone Tree. She preceded him in death March 7, 2003. He served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II from 1944-45. He was a truck driver and a farmer in the Lone Tree area. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Iowa City, and Lone Tree American Legion Post 457. He enjoyed fishing, cutting wood and working around the farm. Survivors include a son, Gary Musser of Iowa City; two daughters, Marcia Jenner of Las Vegas and Jo Lackender and husband Doug of Iowa City; two grandchildren, Kelly Markey and husband Bernie and Kimberly Lackender; a great-granddaughter, Lillis Markey; three brothers, Richard Musser and wife Marilyn of Solon, Larry Musser of Iowa City and John Musser and wife Jan of Riverside; and two sisters, Dorothy Ambrose of Coralville and Kathryn Schreiber and husband Donald of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son-in-law, Jerry Jenner; a brother, Kenneth Musser; and two sisters, Rita Havel and Evelyn Metz.
