Nancy J. (Gurka) Jacob, 70 of Slatersville, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 in the Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Arthur P. Jacob. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Walter P. and June D. (Allard) Gurka. Nancy was also preceded in death by her brother Richard Gurka and her beloved Hillary.
Nancy worked for many years at Amperex and then went on to work at the Friendly Home. She enjoyed her home she and Arthur built together, celebrating many family birthdays and holidays and decorating it throughout the year. Nancy had a passion for all animals and the Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by many relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church Street, Slatersville.
Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Friends of the North Smithfield Animal Shelter, PO Box 653, Slatersville, RI 02876.
